From San Francisco to Sonoma: Cara’s Journey to Becoming a Wedding Florist
Born in Santa Rosa, CA, Cara’s journey has taken her across the globe—from studying floristry in San Francisco to managing a flower shop and freelancing for wedding florists in Boulder, Colorado. She spent years honing her craft, working hands-on with florals in different environments, and learning from some of the best in the industry. In 2016, she took the leap and launched Ribbon & Twine Floral, turning her studio apartment into a floral workshop.
Fast forward to today, and her studio is growing again, with an exciting new space opening in Petaluma, CA in 2025!
"I always loved the idea of being a florist, but after working in weddings, I knew this was my calling. My favorite weddings are always the ones where my couples trust me completely—I get to take their vision to the next level!"
Cara’s background isn’t just about experience—it’s about passion. She has always been drawn to flowers and the stories they tell. From traveling in South America and Australasia to setting roots in the Pacific Northwest, every step of her journey has influenced her artistic approach to floral design.

“I love using seasonal and locally sourced product as much as possible. My goal is to create florals that are both on-trend yet timeless so your wedding photos never go out of style.”
Unlike traditional florists who stick to standard arrangements, Cara’s designs are infused with movement, depth, and intentionality. She blends organic, lush aesthetics with elegant, modern touches to create an unforgettable visual impact.

Maximizing Your Floral Budget for a Luxe Look
Want a luxury floral look while staying within budget? Here’s Cara’s advice:
Prioritize Key Pieces: Invest in eye-catching statement florals rather than scattering smaller arrangements.
Repurpose Ceremony Flowers: Use aisle arrangements at your reception by moving them to the sweetheart table or bar.
Trust Your Florist: Seasonal blooms are the best value—work with your florist to select the best in-season florals.
Think About Venue Size: Large venues need larger floral installations to make an impact.
“If your budget for florals feels tight, choose priority pieces and invest in them. Create a few big WOW moments rather than a lot of little items that will get lost.”
